Preface- Limp hand descended and she knew the effort was lost. Her hopes in vain. Dead. So she turned her back on his lifeless form, and let her life keep going. Concience of it or not.
--starring out her window, she didnt dare guess, or think ahead, possibilities hurt. Waited for it to rain. The waiting hurt the most. Then, rain. It came. She hopped, lith, from her window, limp, letting herself fall. The landing came abruptly. Jarring her back into reality. What was left. And she let herself wonder. LoX--Ch9I had been given plenty of time to think things over. And honestly, I was sure it would take hours to sift through everything. I had shut down all extra, unimportant thoughts as the action had taken place. A great temporary relief, no distractions. But now to deal with it all.LoX--Ch9
I was free. But free of what? The doc seemed to have tipped his own rocker a tad too far but…And the pin prick? I felt…safe with Chance. I really did. But her spontaneity made me worry. My life hadn’t appeared to be in danger. And yet the need to break free had been present. Perhaps animal instinct.

LoX--Ch8I awoke, soaking wet, leaning against a back window, scenery flashing by. I was acting before I was even awake, let alone lucid. I grabbed the umbrella, which had been on the floor, discarded, waiting for a rainy day; and had it around the driver’s neck in one fluid motion.LoX--Ch8
“Pull over or Ill-“she felt free to interrupt. “Or you’ll kill me, causing the car to crash. Then you and your rescuer will be dead?” She snickered and glanced at me in the rear view mirror. I gave a sharp nod and a serious, “yes”, thinking it sounded reasonable.
She burst out laughing, adding


LoX--Ch7 The doc had been gone for a good long time now. And surprise surprise, he had left, taking all trace of hope. But the window. The window he could not take. I opened it a good two inches before it stopped. I glared long and hard at the pane, before I saw it. A lock just small enough to block the rising of the window. I plucked it open and stared freedom in the face. I bolted. I was out of there faster than I knew where I was. So fast, in fact, I didn’t even see what hit me. Upon impact, a sickening thud masked the silence, followed by a screech of burning rubber. I was thrown several long yards, before hitting loose gLoX--Ch7
